Date & Location: Saturday February 3rd, 2007 Welch Village
Snow & Weather: -3 degrees -25-30 below zero wind chill, hard but awesome snow
Vertical feet & runs: 7,910 feet 23 runs
Comments: Rode with Pope. It was crazy cold today with wind chill advisories over the entire state. I take back all the comments I made about Pope being a sissy. He is my only hard core rider. I sent an email yesterday to all of the BFGSC and Pope was the only hard core rider in the group. We did the tour of Welch and rode for three hours in this weather. Damn we are AWESOME! We are so hard core we even rode Stone Face which we had to poach since it was closed. Besides the 6" freshies day, the snow was the best of the season today. We had way more fun than we thought we would. The only set backs were icy goggles (on the inside) and the occasional ice cream headache. 11 DAYS TO TAHOE!
Guest commentary:
Pope: Rode with Matt it was way fun! Tundra-boarding is cool. It's not so cool when your goggles freeze from the inside, but we figured it out. Realizing my pant vents were open pretty much the whole time isn't so smart, but luckily my legs and goods didn't freeze. I'd like to have a beer with whoever designed this years half pipe...just to live in his special world for an hour.
