What up! It is getting cold, boards are being dusted off, it is almost time for the adventures of the BFGSC 2006-2007 season.

Think snow and look for next post at season kickoff at Jack's waxing party on November 11th.

Also don't forget to check all the good times last year in the 2005-2006 Season. It will stay up and running as well as this seasons. You can find it in the list of links at right side of page.

Saturday November 11th, 2006 Jack's Waxing Party

Snow & Weather:
Cold out side. Steamy inside. No snow yet.

Vertical ft & runs: zero & zero (unless you count bending over repeatedly as vertical feet)

Comments: Partied with everyone! Very awesome season kick-off snowboard waxing party. Jack Rules! I went yet another year without having to wax a snowboard. Brian waxed all of my boards. He owed me 4 hours of work (you have to ask him why, I am not at liberty to disclose since it occured at a non-sanctioned BFGSC event)

Whose asses are sore? I guess quite a few since we did a little (or a lot) of ass-slappin oh yeah with a leather belt. Danced and partied all night and we had a great time. I think someone had the HOTS for C.J. (rumors, rumors, rumors who could it be).

Let's get on the hill! Hopefully next entry is very soon.

Saturday December 2nd 2006, Welch Village

Date & Location: Saturday December 2nd. Welch Village.

Snow & Weather: Man-made hard and icy. 18 degrees windy and cold.

Vertical feet & runs: 5,100 feet 15 runs

Comments: Rode with Glen, Greg, Heather, Josh, Roley, Shelly and Christian (Shelly's friend). It was first day out for the season. Harleys and Lookout were the only main runs open.

I felt pretty good until I fell hard at bottom of Harleys and I think I popped my cooter-bone. Greg, Shelly, Christian and myself did boarder-x races down Harleys. We raced 4 times and everybody won a race. The ski patrol told us to stop.

Met up with Heather, Josh and Roley. Heather was buzzed and had a hard crash on Lookout and popped her cooter-bone as well.

Shelley said her and Christian are starting a BFGSC chapter at St.Olaf, that is totally RAD!

We all went to King's after for some burgers and Schells Dark!

Roley, Heather, Greg and myself are off to Heathers to play a gig tonight! Guitar Hero II RULES!

Next entry will more than likely be from Lutsen. See ya then.

Guest commentary:

Greg: What a great day! Rode with Matt, Glen, Roley and Hot Pants. Matt had a soregasm and Shelly had a snowgasm. It was first day. We all had beers at Mad Jax. See you next week.

Glen: My name is Glen and I rode OK today. I had some good runs and some bad runs but got my first head crack and ass bump out the way so I am ready to roll for Alaska. and I got to ride with Greg, Josh, Matt and Roley and even L.P. did 2 runs before she went in and drank. This is Baby Shark, Peace Out!

Saturday December 16th, 2006 Lutsen

Date & Location: Saturday December 16th 2006 Lutsen

Snow & Weather: 34 degrees Dusting of snow

Vertical Feet & Runs: 12,800 ft 19 runs

Comments: Rode with Brian, Heather, Greg, Josh, Jack, Glen, Roley, DBD, Al, Terra, Christina, Vicki, Pete, Jason, Nate and Pope. Big awesome super fun group. We had a blast riding except when we were playing follow the leader and I was leading and went off-piste and crashed and burned and punched myself in the head. My hand is swolen. Asked Glen if he was drunk cuz I never saw him ride that fast. It was weird not having Shack yelling at us to get up in the morning. Off to Josh & Christinas B-day party in room 521.

Josh got a smoking monkey and a "There are mutha f**kin snakes on the mutha f**kin plane" t-shirt for his birthday.

Guest commentary:

DBD: I was very shaky today. I fell more than any other day I think. I messed up my shoulder. It was still a good day though.

G-Dubb: Matt & I rode 12,800 vert. today. We ripped it up!! That is equivalent to a day out west. I am having the most wonderful time. Good friends, snowboarding, Birthday parties, sparks, etc.
Snowboard injuries for 12-12-06
1. Matt punched himself in da face.
2. Darren smoked his shoulder.
3. Pope popped his pooter bone.
4. Brian tweaked his wrist.
Side note: I almost killed Brian, super close call. Whew! Time to party.
2nd side note: Where is Jack?

Heather: So today was good, but not as sweet as yesterday. Tomorrow is going to be even better with 30 degrees, sun and lotsa snow to make "bow down". My favorite part of today was sleeping in. I think i'll require a party nap tonight. Last night I had lot beers, sparks, and vodka red bulls. Josh said as long as I don't do it alone, I don't have a problem. I also tried to pay Josh $100 and Nate $30 to ruin Matt's freshie plan. I would have ruined it myself if I wasn't riding such a sweet board. I rode w/ everyone today except Roley and had a blast. All I am left wondering today is: Where is Shack?

Brian: I rode a lot today. I hiked my last run because the chair lift stopped running (they closed). My quads burned just getting off the lift but I whooped Matt's ass in a wall sit off. Oh yeah, I also got a 99% on Guitar Hero II and I got a 95% on medium at guitar lead. I love my friends; except when they crash into me... F**kin Greg.

Glen: I rode awesomely fast today, Matt even asked :Glen are you drunk?" That's how fast! Where's Shack? Also Matt punched himself in the melon.

Pope: Day 2 at Lutsen rocked. The second best part of the day was Matt laughing at me for falling and almost rolling off the bridge run. The best part is I have corporate co-workers who ride their ass off!

Terra: Dear Diary- I had the mostest fun riding today at Lutsen. I didn't stay up late last night and missed some good spanking probably, but riding today was worth it. Al and I could have kicked that chair lifts ass. Every time we got off, it made us fall. But riding was SA-WEET!

Jason: Feeling a little sluggish. think it may be the altitude of Moose Mountain or possibly sampling everyone's cocktails the previous night. Liquor before beer F**k that shit. Guitar Hero just rocked my ass. I think I'm going to hitch-hike my ashamed ass to Thundar Bay. Well a smoking monkey is staring me down and my Molson is reaching room temp. Thanks ya'll over and out.

Shawna: I've just met everyone and I'm not a snowboarder but I've absolutely had a fabulous time. I've noticed that this group is made up with all amazing people. With the fear of sounding too emotional I'll just say this: You're all blessed to have such a great friends and in all my life I've never met so many fun, open, accepting, intelligent and generous people. Thanks for the invite.

Roley: Crown Royal, Tequila, siren, Pucker, Royal Crown, Blonde Ice, mushy ice crystals, gig, rookies, pros, teachers, skiers, Big Bunny, slingshot, cub scout, naked sleepwalk, Hairpie, Jawas, SnoWgasm, Pops The Cooterbone, chick flick, Prego w/mozerella, fake denim, puffy pants, clear rolling papers, weed worship, garlic cheese bread, 1st timers, Old Timers, Everytimers, Chickadee, Smoking Monkey, Shack, Jancy, Shacey, Breather, Tal, Distina, D-Job, Sparks, The Bismark, Mickey Mouse, Wet Birginia reunion, naturals, strugglers. I love friends!!! Sean; Props to wifey poo, good job Cork! Ring Ping- Mother ban, puppy snuggle, Popey go pee pee, nerd name game, head punchey, Flippy McFliperson, boxing glove.

Christina: First day out with the BFGSC this season- I Love it! I earned me record for the most yards on a butt slide- Pete was my only witness, but I thought everyone needed to know the truth. Let's do it again tomorrow.

Peter: Hiked Mystery Mountain all day, won gold in the most f**cked up on Friday night. Yes got lost on the way home. Vicki let me in and then kept me up with slurping noises. Saturday night ass punching kid.

Saturday December 23rd, 2006 Welch Village

Date & Location: Saturday December 23rd, 2006 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: icy, chunky 34 degrees

Vertical Feet & Runs: 10,600 ft 34 runs

Comments:
Rode with Glen, Cuz Jeff, Greg, Roley, Heather, and Shelly. Glen, CJ and I did the tour of Welch and did a 3 1/2 hour first session. Shelly rode with us a little. We took actin photos since all of our photos seem to be bar photos. Finished the day with Greg and destroyed and ripped up a chunky Dan's. Greg said I am riding the best he has seen from me. I love him! Check out the mega vertical at Welch. 10,600 ft WOW!

Guest Commentary:

CJ: I did my first ever full "Tour of Welch" The snow wasn't very good but it was a fun day.

Glen: I rocked 30 runs on Welch's finest icy snow! We got some great action shots this visit. Not all bar action shots for the blog.

G-Dub: Got a late start that combined with a sour puss attitude (and a well timed sparks from cub scout) ended my day with only 4 icy runs. How lame! Luck for me, Matt, Glen & CJ convinced me to get my gear back on. Then I learned a valuable lesson; even with horrible conditions you can still have an awesome day!! It's all about who you ride with. Man do I love my friends. And that is all I have to say about that.

Saturday December 30th, 2006 Welch Village

Date & Location: Saturday December 30th, 2006 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 39 degrees spring mushy conditions

Vertical Feet & Runs: 5,060 ft 16 runs* oh wait more runs 6,610 ft 21 runs

Comments:
Rode with Cuz Jeff, Glen, Brian, Alex, and Tawney. It looks like March in December. Where da F**k is the snow? I think Glen was still drunk from last night. We drank a Sparks as usual and it prevented us from getting hung over. Riding was fun! CJ sucks at snowboarding when he goes last. He rips when I follow him. Further proving my theory that when someone follows you down the hill, you ride better. Glen is riding really well. I just need to get his conditioning up there for Tahoe. Oh yeah I almost forgot the best part, CJ got vacuumed off the quad chair by Mad Jax. He was hanging onto the pole for dear life but got sucked right off the chair. Glen and I laughed so hard. Sorry CJ. We were hoping to meet up with B-Hole. Shelly said Shack was supposed to be here but he didn't show. Where is Greg? Greg sucks! Just kidding Greg we just miss you. We rocked out with Moons & Stars!*

*After taking my boots off and drinking mystery buckets for a couple hours, Brian, Alex, Tawney and myself rode 5 more runs. We should not have been on snowboards and oh yeah I almost forgot I beat Brian in a boarder-X race! I love these guys!

Guest Commentary:

CJ: Lifts suck!! Beer is good!! It's fun to have fun and all these people like to have fun.

Glen: CJ joined the Welch Hoover Club. Matt was screaming "Camera Camera!" I rode OK today in the mush. I think I'll continue the day training for Team Sparks! We started a mystery bucket trend!

Bonnie: A wet day at Welch- Always warm and dry in Madd Jaxx- I'll always have a cold sparks waiting!

Brian: 3 runs no turns- too many mystery buckets, plenty of rain, good friends, PRICELESS! I love these guys!

Alex: it's always too fast hammered! To you all from Alex for those who love this bar from Alex who will be always hammered with you.

Tawney: Well actually my name is Tawny, I usually ride in Idaho but actually Minnesota is a lot of fun! We drank a lot, later riding fast down the bluff. It's weird to write bluff. I never knew what a bluff was until I came to Red Wing Minnesota Welch ski resort. I plan on coming here next year working so I will see you then. If you do got Costa Rica I will show you a good time I promise that! Scuba diving, mountain climbing, canopy in the rainforest, surfing, camping, hiking, windsurfing. I promise you I'm gonna do it all. Tonight was good boarding good breaking me in before I leave to tropics.

The group: WE LOVE BONNIE!!!!

quote of the day: "He hasn't done anything bad in his life except for me"- Alex's wife commenting on Alex

Monday January 1st, 2007 Welch Village

Date & Location: Monday January 1st, 2007 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 32 degrees Icy

Vertical Feet & Runs: 4,100 feet 12 runs

Comments: Rode with Greg, Vicki, Chris, Brian, Heather, Josh, Glen and Cuz Jeff. We all were a little sluggish after New Year's except for Brian. The snow was icy and sucked but of course masochistic Brian loved it. I rode lazy. Heather tried to get a hold of Shack but he only returned call after she said I was in hospital (which I had absolutely nothing to do with because that is bad karma). Madd Jax no longer offers mystery buckets. I guess we taught them a lesson on Saturday. Happy B-Day Dad! I miss you!

Guest Commentary:

Greg: My that group photo turned out swimmingly.

Heather: So today was a great day of riding... I would say it went quite swimmingly. Brian did not know that Bob Kennedy was shot but I did. Thought that should be documented that Brian didn't know something. I thought we all rode pretty well for New Year's Eve being last night. The only way I could get Jack to call me is if I tell him that Matt is in the hospital. The good news he did finally call back.

Vicki: Hangover kicked my ass today. Karma police were in attendance today and kicked Matt's ass after he made fun of me for falling off chair lift. Love those karma police.

Brian: No work today. Just fun, lotsa fun. Don't remember anything else. Helmets are awesome!!!

24.10.06

Saturday January 6th, 2007 Welch Village

Date & Location: Saturday January 6th, 2007 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 34 degrees corn sluff

Vertical feet & runs: 3,940 feet 12 runs

Comments: Rode with Cuz Jeff, and Glen. Saw Greg and Pete as they were arriving and we were leaving. Riding kind of sucked. We got here at 9:30am (not hungover) and the main lot was full. 550 stupid ski racer kids invaded the hill. It was a little kid mine field. The snow was actually pretty decent. We worked Chicken a little. Glen fell on last run and got up just in time before I dusted him. I rode the big bomber T-6 today. He missed me. Greg and I discussed the possibility of a Tahoe trade.

Guest Commentary:

Jeff: It was rough riding today. Snow was OK but lots of people. My legs were hurting after running stairs twice this week with Matt. Gotta get ready for Tahoe.

Glen: I rode great today considering all the land mines. I worked on hop turns for Tahoe and perfected my scramble abilities. Sparks+ rocks!! Thanks Bonnie!!

23.10.06

Saturday January 13th, 2007 Welch Village

Date & Location: Saturday January 13th, 2007 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 13 degrees cold very nice new man-made snow

Vertical feet & runs: 9,550 feet 28 runs

Comments: Rode with Greg, Cuz Jeff, Vicki, and Glen. It was cold today which was fine with me. I love wearing my Ronin Puffy (Greg calls it my Charlie Brown jacket). We got to Welch at 11:00am and Greg had already done 14 runs then we started the tour of Welch. Greg is so rad! Welch blew snow all week and the snow was in great condition. We completed the tour around 3:00pm with about 7,800 feet. Then we went to Mad Jaxx for the return of the Mystery Buckets. Yeah!!! We drank Mystery Buckets and rocked out to an acoustic cover band. Then after dark CJ and I went and did 7 more runs down Pete's and Dan's. It was the best runs of the day and CJ ripped it. I achieved the ever elusive perfect buzz (I usually overshoot it by a mile) I don't know why sometimes he rips and sometimes rides like such a sissy. Maybe I should clone myself and have my clone follow CJ down the hill all the time but SHHHH don't tell CJ it is a clone.

Guest Commentary:

Greg: Awesome training day. 35 runs on bulletproof hard pack. Did the "manure tour". Chicken was the best. Feeling strong for my Colorado weekend next week. Then it's on to Tahoe. Whoo Hooo! 2 Malolos = 2 Malolos , 1 Malolo+1 Fish= 1.75 Malolos.

Vicki: Great day today. Started out rocky but ended strong. Did the "manure tour" as Greg dubbed it. Then drank some Mystery beer. How much better does it get.

Glen: I rode insanely awesome today! I tore it up on Chicken. I completed my 2nd tour de Welch of the season, 21 runs. Mystery Buckets rock, Thanks Bonnie!

CJ: Today was fun. It was cold but I rode good today. Did another "Tour of Welch" which was cool. Madd Jaxx had Mystery Buckets again. Thanks Bonnie! 2nd session Rocked!! I think I either had or was close to the "Perfect Buzz" I had my best 7 runs of the season during the last session. Can't wait for Colorado and Tahoe.

Sunday January 14th, 2007 Welch Village

Date & Location: Sunday January 14th, 2007 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 18 degrees good snow per Josh

Vertical Feet & Runs: 11,500 feet 34 runs

Comments: Rode with Vicki, Terra, Glen, Cuz Jeff, and Josh. The snow was good today according to Josh then it started snowing around 4:30pm and the snow turned great. We did 4 sessions intermingled with buckets o beer and NFL playoffs. We saw Nikki for first time this year. Hi Nikki. We are monitoring the snow storm. If we get 5 inches or more, me call in sick tomorrow. I love snowboarding. Josh designated our team name for Tahoe as Team Zoolander. Peace Out. Oh yeah if I ever lose snowboarding confidence in Tahoe, Josh will tell me it is just like "Beggars Canyon back home."

Guest Commentary:

Glen: I did 30 runs today. Putting me at around 9,600 vertical feet. This weekend was a blast! Buckets of Leinie rock da casbah! Can't wait for Tahoe, Go Hosay!

Jeff: Snow was good. Riding was fun. I need to work on my heelside turns off of the lift but I'll get there. Can't wait for Tahoe!

Josh: I love to toss bottle caps into the bucket!!

21.10.06

Monday January 15th, 2007 Welch Village

Date & Location: Monday January 15th, 2007 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 8 degrees and cold but it was a Pow day!

Vertical feet & runs: 6,290 feet 19 runs

Comments: Rode with Glen. It started snowing last night while we were still riding at Welch. It was forecast for 4-7 inches. So Glen and I called in dead and decided to go snowboarding to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I left Crystal at 6:00am and picked up Glen at 6:30am then drove to Lil Oscars in Hampton and ate breakfast from 7:30-8:00am. We drove to Welch and got there at 8:30am. We were first car in lot at Madd Jaxx. Looked up at all the glistening 6 inches of glorious fluffy POW! Yum Yum! Glen and I were the first lift up. I did first tracks down Dan's. Oink Oink! We were total powder pigs the first hour. Then it started to get tracked out. We rode hard from 9:00-11:00am then called it quits since we ate up all the Freshies. Sorry Josh that you had to fix the car. It was a rad day!

Guest Commentary:

Glen: Oink Oink! We were powder pigs today. We ripped up Duds, Dan's, and Pete's. First time this year hitting it 3 days in a row. My legs are toast. I had a blast today, making the PTO worth every minute.

20.10.06

Sunday January 21st, 2007 Welch Village

Date & Location: Sunday January 21st, 2007 Welch Village

Snow & Weather: 3 inches of freshies 25 degrees

Vertical feet & runs: 10,610 feet 33 runs

Comments: Rode with Pete, Nate, Shaun of the dead, Roley, Heather, Terra, Kevin, Vicki, Glen, and Cuz Jeff. We did 3 rad sessions today and they were all super-fun. We had a big group and they all rocked. Watched da Bears win and NE is winning at the moment which sucks cuz then I will owe Kevina money and then it would be a YAWN superbowl. We drank Madd Jaxx out of Leinies for the second straight weekend. I pushed skier Shaun over when he was standing innocently. I felt bad but it was funny and the karma police did not give me a citation. I hope it doesn't come in the mail. Super Awesome Fun day with 3 inches of fresh. Woo Hoo. 24 day until TAHOE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERRA!!!!!!!!!!!

Guest Commentary:

Roley: Only 9 buckets so far, long way to go. Fell in love all over today Baron ES...YES. I do! Happy to hear a knuckle busting went on last night. Long time coming. These people are crazy. Matt Ruvs Reapin Riz. I found 9" of untouched fresh snow or what is also known as "freshies" or "pow pow". I love snowboarding, Heather loves Kevin now that Steve moved to NYC.

CJ: Beer is good. Buckets are cool. F**k the bears (sorry Vicki). Snow was good today. All these people rock!

H Bomb: Kevin is my new best friend. Who is Steve?

Vicki: Sparks started my day right- Terra, H-Bomb, and I rocked some jumps and the cut through from Harleys to Duds sparks inspired courage for sure. Go Bears!!

Dani & Mary: Today was the 2nd day ever snowboarding for Dani and Mary. We had a phenomenal teacher, Peter, who was very patient with us. He helped us at the top of the hill for every run. The day was absolutely beautiful. We spent less time on our asses this time. I think we're addicted now and can't wait to buy our very own snowboards and all the sweet-ass gear. Then we'll look cool!

Peter: Lesson day- the girls rock!! more converts!

Shaun: Skiing rocks!!
